Abiouness Wines is a small winery located in Napa Valley, founded by Nicole Abiouness, who has a rich background in culinary arts and winemaking. Abiouness specializes in Sangiovese and Pinot Noir, with the first Sangiovese bottled in 1999 and the first Pinot Noir from Stanly Ranch in 2000, making her the first vintner to designate this vineyard for Pinot Noir. The winery has faced challenges, including producing wines in different facilities over the years due to fires in Napa Valley, yet it has maintained a consistent production of around 800 cases annually. Abiouness wines are characterized by minimal intervention winemaking practices, focusing on high-quality grapes. The winery offers a range of wines, including unique varietals like Picpoul and Grenache Blanc, and is known for its approachable and balanced styles. While Abiouness Wines does not have a public tasting room, its wines are available in select restaurants and wine shops in Napa Valley, as well as in Virginia and Rhode Island.
