Ackerman Family Vineyards, located in the Coombsville appellation of Napa Valley, is owned by Lauren Ackerman, who has a background in public relations and business. The vineyard was established when her husband, Bob, discovered a property intended for horse ownership, which included an existing vineyard. They purchased the land in the late 1990s, and since then, the vineyard has been replanted and certified organic. The estate spans 16 acres, with about 11 acres dedicated to grape cultivation, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, along with other varietals. Ackerman Family Vineyards produces up to 2,000 cases annually, with a commitment to donating their net profits to the Napa Valley Community Foundation. Lauren has cultivated a sustainable farming approach and emphasizes lower alcohol levels in her wines, which are designed for food pairing. The winery has expanded its offerings to include a Sauvignon Blanc and a rosé, alongside their traditional Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors can taste wines at the historic Ackerman Heritage House in Napa, which Lauren meticulously restored. The winery maintains limited distribution, focusing on select retail outlets and direct sales through their website.
