Adelaide local Sam Berketa joined Alpha Box & Dice as Head Winemaker in 2016 at just 26 years old, where he has evolved the existing legacy of wines and created new ‘letters’ under his unique winemaking philosophy. Sam has worked in wineries in McLaren Vale, Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Rheinhessen (Germany), Barolo (Italy) and Monterey (USA), applying knowledge gained in each vineyard to improve Alpha Box & Dice wines every vintage. Sam ensures that every Alpha Box & Dice wine is innovative, relevant, incredibly drinkable and most importantly – the best expression of the fruit and environment. To achieve this, Sam works with his network of growers year round, ensuring appropriate care and consideration has gone into the vineyard so that the quality of the fruit is translated into the glass.
