Amici Cellars, located in Napa Valley, was founded in 1991 by winemaker Jeff Hansen and friends who initially produced wine for personal enjoyment. The name "Amici," meaning "friends" in Italian, reflects the winery's origins and its commitment to friendship. Over the years, the winery has changed ownership, with current owners including co-founder Bob Shepard and John Harris. Amici Cellars has transitioned from being a virtual winery to acquiring a permanent facility in 2012, situated off Old Lawley Toll Road. The winery produces a range of wines, focusing on lighter styles and single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasting experiences are personalized and relaxed, often held outdoors under trees. Amici's Chardonnays are noted for their balanced profiles, utilizing minimal oak influence, while their Sauvignon Blancs showcase vibrant fruit characteristics. The Cabernet Sauvignon offerings include both approachable blends and single vineyard selections that express the unique terroir of Napa Valley. Visitors can enjoy tastings that feature exclusive wines not available in distribution, providing a unique glimpse into Amici Cellars' diverse portfolio.
