Anomaly Vineyards

St Helena, CA

Anomaly Vineyards is situated at the western edge of St. Helena, California, near the Mayacamas mountains. Founded by Steve and Linda Goldfarb, who transitioned from legal careers to winemaking in 1997, the winery began with a small home vineyard and has grown to produce around 1,700 cases annually. Their first commercial vintage was in 2000, and they prioritize quality over quantity, focusing on estate-grown wines. The winery features a unique three-story design, with a cellar located 20 feet underground, making it one of the few below-ground wineries in Napa Valley. Anomaly’s vineyards include three blocks primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Goldfarbs have embraced the local terroir, producing wines characterized by elegance and vibrancy, suitable for aging. Visitors can enjoy a personal experience at the winery, where the Goldfarbs are actively involved. Anomaly Vineyards is known for its limited production of premium wines, including a highly regarded Petit Verdot, and has garnered praise for its well-balanced and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon offerings.
