Allora Vineyards is situated north of St. Helena, near Ehlers Lane and Highway 29. Owned by Terry and Nancy Klein, the vineyard has a rich family history in Napa Valley, with Terry's family residing there since 1963. The winery began in 1997, and they planted their estate vineyard in 1998, harvesting their first grapes in 2002. The 15-acre property, previously used for livestock, now features 10 acres of vines primarily consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon clones 15 and 337, along with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. The winery operates as a small, functional "garagist" establishment with two tasting rooms for private tastings. Allora's winemaking has evolved over the years, with current oversight by Angelina Mondavi. The winery produces around 1,400 cases annually, with some wines selling out quickly due to limited quantities. Their offerings include a range of varietals, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and various red blends, showcasing a focus on fruit purity and balanced acidity. Visitors can expect a personalized tasting experience in a beautifully constructed setting, with the Klein family actively involved in operations.
