Barbour Vineyards, located just south of St. Helena, is owned by Jim Barbour and his daughter Fiona, with Jim's wife Kathy Simpson serving as General Manager. Jim has deep roots in Napa Valley, having moved there as a child in 1962. His family previously owned the property where Sequoia Grove winery now stands. With over 40 years of experience in vineyard management, Jim has cultivated a reputation for managing premium vineyards, focusing on organic and sustainable practices. In 1992, he purchased a 7-acre property and planted 4 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourcing bud wood from the nearby Grace Family Vineyard. Barbour Vineyards produces around 300 cases annually, with a commitment to low yields and dry farming. The winery's first commercial vintage was in 1995, and they have consistently released single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon since. Jim collaborates closely with winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett, who has been integral to the winery's success. Visitors can taste Barbour's wines by appointment at Revana Winery, and the wines are available through their mailing list and website.
