Bella Union Winery, established in 2012, is located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, on a 120-acre estate with 60 acres dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon. Initially producing only Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery underwent a significant transformation after being purchased by Far Niente Wine Estates in late 2021. The name "Bella Union" pays homage to the nearby Bella Union Mining Company, reflecting the area's historical significance in quicksilver mining. Following a two-year, $20 million renovation, Bella Union reopened to visitors on September 15, 2024, showcasing a visually stunning hospitality space. The winery offers various tasting experiences, including casual social hours and curated tastings, catering to both novice wine drinkers and collectors. The venue features multiple intimate spaces, including The Atrium and the Jewel Box, which provides panoramic vineyard views. Bella Union produces a diverse range of wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and several Cabernet Sauvignon blends, all characterized by balanced acidity and vibrant flavors. The winery also hosts an Artist in Residence program, enhancing the visitor experience with art displayed throughout the property. Overall, Bella Union Winery combines exceptional wines, art, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a noteworthy destination in Napa Valley.
