Bell Wine Cellars is situated off Washington Street, south of Yountville, surrounded by vineyards and near the Napa River. Founded by Anthony Bell in 1991, the winery has a rich history, with Bell having extensive experience in winemaking and viticulture, including a significant role at Beaulieu Vineyard. He is particularly noted for his research on Cabernet Sauvignon clones, especially Clone 6, which he introduced to Napa Valley. The winery's estate spans six acres, where they cultivate Chardonnay, Merlot, and Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon, employing higher trellising techniques to enhance grape quality. Bell Wine Cellars is known for producing balanced, elegant wines that are food-friendly and age-worthy, with a primary focus on Cabernet Sauvignon alongside several white wines. In 2002, Bell partnered with Ron Berberian and Alex Spanos, who acquired the original Plam Cellars property. The winery has maintained a commitment to quality, sourcing grapes from both their estate and small family-owned vineyards in Napa Valley. Visitors can expect a tasting experience that highlights the winery's dedication to craftsmanship and the unique characteristics of their wines.
