Bergman Family Vineyards

Saint Helena, CA

Bergman Estate, located in Napa Valley, was established by Alan and Pam Bergman in 2013, who expanded the property to 40 acres. Currently, 10 acres are under vine, featuring predominantly red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, along with a small planting of Chardonnay. The estate's history traces back to Florentine Kellogg, an early Napa pioneer who settled in the area in 1846 and was instrumental in the region's viticulture. The estate is situated within a natural bowl on Spring Mountain, providing a cooler climate compared to the valley floor. This unique geography contributes to their wine style, which emphasizes meticulous vineyard management and innovative techniques, such as using misters for temperature control and laser devices to deter birds. The winery, featuring a state-of-the-art cave, was completed in 2020 and employs advanced sorting and fermentation processes. Visitors can expect a serene and isolated experience at Bergman Estate, which is surrounded by Bothe State Park. The Bergmans aim for a personalized approach to viticulture, referring to their practices as "bespoke farming," and have made significant improvements to the property since their acquisition.
