Boeschen Vineyards is a family-owned boutique winery situated northeast of St. Helena along the Silverado Trail. Founded in 1999 by Dann and Susan Boeschen, the winery initially sold its grapes to local producers before producing its own wines. Their son Doug, who transitioned from a management consultant to winemaker, oversees the winery after gaining experience at notable wineries and earning a degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis. The winery is housed in a well-designed cave that allows for efficient storage of their wines. The property has a rich history, previously known as Edgebrook Gardens and Glass Mountain Ranch, and features gardens with over 100 rose varieties. Boeschen Vineyards spans 11 acres of diverse soils, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc. The winery practices sustainable farming and was certified as Fish Friendly Farming in 2007. They produce six wines, including a Bordeaux-style blend and a Cabernet Sauvignon, emphasizing a gentle winemaking approach that highlights the vineyard's fruit. Visitors can expect a serene environment complemented by beautiful gardens during their tasting experience.
