Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

Boyd Family Vineyards

Napa, CA

Boyd Family Vineyards is situated in the Oak Knoll District, just north of Napa, California. Founded by Stan and Joan Boyd, the winery produced its first vintage in 2000 after Stan's five-year search for suitable property. The estate, known as Big Ranch Vineyard, was previously overgrown with plum trees and has since been transformed to cultivate a variety of grapes, including Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Viognier. Approximately half of their grape production is sold to other wineries. The winery's production is around 3,000 cases annually, with a focus on balanced wines that showcase the diversity of the Oak Knoll terroir. Their wines are crafted at a nearby state-of-the-art facility, and they emphasize both red and white varietals. The tasting experience is enhanced by the picturesque setting and the opportunity for wine club members to stay in a guest cottage on-site. Boyd Family Vineyards is actively involved in local grape-growing organizations and offers reasonably priced wines, making it an appealing destination for visitors interested in Napa Valley's offerings.
