Initially a sub-label of B Wise wines, BRION became an independent brand in 2014. The winery is located on the Sleeping Lady Vineyard, a historic site near Yountville, housed in a 1861 bank barn that facilitates gravity flow winemaking. The vineyard spans 110 acres, predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, and is known for its alluvial soils. In August 2023, Brion Wise acquired Montagna Estate on Pritchard Hill, enhancing his holdings in Napa Valley to approximately 2,000 acres. This estate is recognized for its exceptional terroir and panoramic views. The winery also includes the Upper Range Vineyard in the Vaca mountain range and recently purchased the former Cosentino winery.
