Buoncristiani Family Winery, established in 1999 by brothers Matt and Jay Buoncristiani, has grown to include their siblings Nate and Aaron in its operations. The family has roots in San Francisco, moving to Napa in 1977, where their father, Rob, cultivated a small backyard vineyard that inspired their winemaking journey. Initially producing home wine, the family transitioned to commercial winemaking, releasing their first vintage in 1999. The winery, located in the Caves at Soda Canyon, benefits from its underground structure, which has protected it from natural disasters like the 2014 earthquake and the 2017 Atlas Peak fire. Although they do not own vineyards, the Buoncristiani brothers source premium grapes through long-term contracts, ensuring quality and consistency. Buoncristiani wines are noted for their approachability and food-friendliness, with a range of offerings including a unique dry Dolcetto and their flagship O.P.C. red blend. The winery produces approximately 5,000 cases annually, with a focus on balanced wines that are enjoyable both in youth and with age. Visitors can expect a welcoming tasting experience, showcasing a variety of thoughtfully crafted wines.
