Bure Family Wines, located north of St. Helena in Napa Valley, was established by former NHL player Valeri Bure and his wife, actress Candace Cameron Bure. Valeri, originally from Moscow, developed a passion for wine during his hockey career, which included stints with the Montreal Canadiens and participation in the Olympics. After retiring in 2005, he sought a vineyard site for seven years, ultimately purchasing a 2-acre property in 2012 on the prestigious St. Helena bench-land. The winery produces several Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings and previously offered white wines sourced from Sonoma County. Their winemaking philosophy emphasizes crafting balanced wines from exceptional vineyard sites. Current winemaker Benoit Touquette joined in 2018, following a collaboration with Luc Morlet. Bure Family Wines is known for its limited production, often bottling only 150 to 200 cases annually. Their wines, including the 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2018 Majesty’s Blend, showcase a range of flavors and aromas, reflecting the quality of their vineyard. Visitors can acquire their wines through a membership waitlist, with select offerings available at the French Laundry in Yountville.
