Calistoga, CA

$30 - $50

CAMi Vineyards, located in the southern Calistoga appellation along the Silverado Trail, was founded by Laurie Shelton, a long-time Napa resident, in 2013. The vineyard spans 2.5 acres and typically produces fewer than 200 cases of wine annually. Laurie and her late husband, Tom Shelton, purchased the property in 2009, which already had Merlot vines. Tom was a respected figure in the wine industry, particularly known for his leadership at Joseph Phelps Winery. Laurie's passion for winemaking developed over many years, and she initially sold grapes to other wineries before launching CAMi Wines. The vineyard primarily focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with the Merlot sourced from cuttings of the renowned Three Palms Vineyard. Winemaker John Giannini, who has been with CAMi since 2014, emphasizes expressing the vineyard's character in his wines, which are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Visitors can taste CAMi wines at Maison Fayard in downtown Napa, which opened in September 2023, or at the CAMi Art Gallery in Calistoga, which features rotating art displays. The winery is dog-friendly and encourages appointments for tastings.
