The winery sources grapes from prestigious Napa vineyards, including the renowned To Kalon and Las Piedras, benefiting from long-standing relationships with growers. The wines at Carter Cellars emphasize the purity of fruit, showcasing a full expression of ripeness with oak serving a supportive role. All wines are aged in 100% new French oak barrels and produced in limited quantities, typically under 350 cases per wine. The current winemaker, Russel Bevan, was chosen for his style that aligns with the winery's vision. Visitors can taste these highly regarded wines by appointment at Envy Winery in Calistoga, which offers private tasting rooms and scenic views of the Vaca mountain range.
