Checkerboard Vineyards is a unique Napa Valley property that spans approximately 300 acres from the valley floor to the slopes of the Diamond Mountain Appellation, reaching elevations of up to 2000 feet. Founded in 1998 by Dennis O'Neil and Stephen Martin, the vineyard has a rich history, with previous ownership by notable figures in the wine industry. Currently, only about 14 acres are planted with vines, including Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc at lower elevations, and various red varietals at higher elevations.
