Complant Wine is a father-son venture located in Napa Valley, founded by Daniel and Sam Baron. Daniel brings over 50 years of experience in the wine industry, while Sam offers a fresh perspective. The winery focuses on producing elegant and age-worthy white and red wines, particularly Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, emphasizing freshness and lower alcohol levels. Their inaugural vintage was released in 2017. Daniel oversees the Cabernet Sauvignon production, while Sam manages the Chardonnay. They employ a gentle winemaking approach, utilizing a labor-intensive gravity flow method for racking. The name "Complant" stems from a conversation Daniel had with a mentor in Bordeaux, reflecting the importance of human interaction in viticulture. The winery's labels feature unique artwork inspired by Daniel's garden, created by local artist Kristina McDonald. Complant wines are fermented with indigenous yeast and undergo full malolactic fermentation, with a commitment to environmental sustainability, such as omitting tin capsules. The Chardonnay is sourced from the certified organic Linda Vista Vineyard in Oak Knoll District, showcasing the Barons' dedication to quality and craftsmanship.
