Covert Estate is located in Coombsville, Napa Valley, and was established in 2012 by winemaker Julien Fayard along with his partners Cal and Pam Nicholson, and Dave and Laura Nestor. The estate spans 12 acres, with 4.5 acres planted to vines. Julien, originally from France, has a rich winemaking heritage and moved to Napa in 2006 to expand his craft. He previously worked with renowned winemaker Philippe Melka before starting his own consulting business. The winery features a 12,000 square foot cave, completed in 2015, designed by architect Juancarlos Fernandez. It is committed to sustainable practices, being certified Napa Green and utilizing biodynamic farming methods. The tasting room, designed by Richard Vonsaal, incorporates unique elements from the wine industry. Covert Estate focuses on producing balanced wines that highlight Napa's fruit richness, particularly benefiting from Coombsville's cooler climate. Their offerings include 100% varietal estate wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, known for their depth and complexity. The winery provides a distinctive tasting experience, showcasing the unique terroir of the region.
