Davis Estates, located in the Calistoga appellation of Napa Valley, was established by Mike and Sandy Davis following their acquisition of two adjacent properties in 2011 and 2012, totaling 155 acres. The estate's history includes a winery dating back to 1900, which was destroyed by fire in 1946. The Davises transformed the property, completing a new winery, cave, and hospitality center by late 2016, designed by renowned architect Howard Backen. The estate features approximately 11 acres of vineyards, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, along with some Petite Sirah and Cabernet Franc. The winery produces around 6,000 cases annually, with wines crafted by a team of winemakers, including Cary Gott and Philippe Melka. The tasting experience at Davis Estates is enhanced by a world-class hospitality center that offers various curated experiences, including educational tastings and historical tours. Visitors can enjoy the rustic yet elegant ambiance, which includes unique elements like a restored barn and outdoor seating with stunning views. Davis Estates also emphasizes community support, exemplified by their 2020 First Responders Chardonnay, which contributed to local first responders following the Glass Fire.
