Denali Estate

Saint Helena, CA

Denali Estate Vineyards, located in Napa Valley, was established by Walt and Katherine Schlotfeldt, with their first vintage released in 2016. The couple, who have strong ties to Alaska, initially sought property in Sonoma County but ultimately purchased a 42-acre vineyard in Napa in 2012. This site, previously known for producing wines under the Rockledge brand, required significant restoration, including replanting and the installation of a well for irrigation. Denali Estate focuses primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon, with their wines reflecting the unique characteristics of their hillside vineyard. They have produced various vintages since their inaugural release, showcasing depth and finesse. Notably, they also create Champagne through a partnership with Champagne Francart et Fils, emphasizing high-quality production methods. Visitors to Denali Estate can expect a welcoming atmosphere, as the Schlotfeldts appreciate the support from their neighbors in the wine community. The estate offers a personal touch in their wine-making process, and the couple enjoys sharing their wines and stories with enthusiasts. Tasting experiences are available by appointment, allowing for an intimate exploration of their offerings.
