Elizabeth Spencer Winery, situated in a historic 1872 building that once served as Rutherford's post office, is a partnership founded by Elizabeth Pressler and Spencer Graham. Despite the name, there is no individual named Elizabeth Spencer. Pressler has extensive experience in the Napa Valley wine industry, having worked with notable wineries, while Graham has a background as a chef and sommelier. In December 2021, the winery was sold to Boisset Collection, which operates multiple brands across California and internationally. The winery does not own vineyards but collaborates with local growers, producing around 15,000 cases annually at a custom crush facility. Their tasting room, one of the smallest in Napa, opened in 2006 and offers a variety of tasting experiences, including a Signature Tasting and a Reserve Tasting, showcasing their diverse wine portfolio. Guests are welcomed with lighter wines and can enjoy outdoor seating surrounded by greenery. Elizabeth Spencer Winery produces a range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and blends, with a focus on quality and varietal expression. The winery also features a culinary museum dedicated to food and wine history, enhancing the visitor experience.
