Gemstone Vineyard

Yountville, CA

Gemstone Vineyard, located on the outskirts of Yountville along the Silverado Trail, was established by Suzie and Paul Frank in 1997 after they transitioned from a successful diamond business in Los Angeles. The vineyard spans 17 acres and was initially planted with Chardonnay before being replanted with 13 heirloom clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The Franks sold the vineyard in 2008 to Carole and Michael Marks, who brought extensive business experience to the winery. In 2023, ownership transferred to Jason Rebrook, a petroleum engineer, who has since expanded the vineyard to 26 acres and introduced new winemaking practices under the guidance of winemaker Julien Fayard. Gemstone focuses on producing high-quality wines, including their flagship Gemstone Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and limited production offerings like Cabernet Franc and Ruby. The vineyard employs a meticulous harvesting process, picking grapes from individual rows to ensure optimal quality. The wines are known for their rich flavors and balanced profiles, reflecting the unique terroir of the region. Visitors can expect a personalized tasting experience, showcasing the vineyard's commitment to excellence in winemaking.
