Goosecross Cellars, situated near Yountville, was established in 1985 by David and Colleen Topper along with winemaker Geoff Gorsuch and his wife Karen. The winery changed ownership in 2013 when it was sold to Golden Equity Investments, and in 2021, Christi Coors Ficeli, a descendant of Adolph Coors, and her husband David acquired it. Christi has a background in the beer industry, while David has extensive experience in wine. Originally focused on Chardonnay, Goosecross has since diversified its offerings, producing wines exclusively from Napa Valley. The winery features a modern tasting room that opened in 2015, providing a welcoming atmosphere with scenic vineyard views. Visitors are drawn to the approachable and friendly staff, making for an enjoyable tasting experience. Goosecross produces a range of wines, including the popular 2022 Rosé for Lucy, crafted from Pinot Noir, and a selection of varietals like Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing the vineyard's diverse terroir. The winery emphasizes strong hospitality and aims to create a memorable experience for guests looking to explore beyond the typical Napa Valley wine route.
