Grape Culture

Napa, CA

Grape Culture is a Napa Valley winery founded in 2019 by winemaker Collin Cranor, who is joined by Craig Ploof, a partner and fellow winemaker. The winery's name pays tribute to Agoston Haraszthy's 1861 book, which reflects on wine culture and history. Cranor's winemaking roots trace back to his father's business in Livermore, where he initially helped out before launching Nottingham Cellars in 2009. The winery focuses on producing wines from select heritage vineyard sites in Northern California, particularly Napa and Sonoma. Grape Culture offers a variety of wines, including a Sauvignon Blanc and several Cabernet Sauvignons, showcasing different terroirs within Napa Valley. The wines are characterized by their balance and vibrant flavors, with an emphasis on letting the fruit express itself. Tasting experiences were previously available at a small tasting room in Livermore, which has since closed, but wines can now be sampled at the Napa winery or during monthly pop-ups nearby. The winery is part of Syndicate Wines, which also includes Typicité and Nottingham Cellars, reflecting a commitment to quality and innovation in winemaking.
