Mike Grgich, a Croatian immigrant and renowned winemaker, gained fame for his role in the 1976 Paris Tasting, where his Chardonnay won top honors, solidifying his reputation. The winery is co-owned by the Grgich and Hills families, with Mike's daughter, Violet, currently serving as President. The estate encompasses over 360 acres of vineyards across Napa Valley, focusing on regenerative farming practices. Grgich Hills was once the largest biodynamically farmed winery in the U.S. and is known for its commitment to soil health and sustainability. The winery produces a range of wines, with Chardonnay being a standout, praised for its bright acidity and food-friendly profile.
