Grieve Family Winery is located in Lovall Valley, a secluded area of Napa Valley known for its cool micro-climate. The winery is the only producer in the valley, which features a mix of residences and small family-owned vineyards. Founded by David Grieve, who also runs a successful real estate investment company, the winery began with the purchase of 10 acres in 2000 and expanded to 65 acres of vineyards, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with a notable 12.5 acres of Sauvignon Blanc. The winery's first commercial wine was released in 2008, and it has since focused on producing high-quality Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux blends. Grieve Family Winery's wines are crafted with attention to detail, showcasing complexity and depth. The winery operates with a production of 1,500 to 1,700 cases annually and offers tastings by appointment at their newly remodeled tasting room in Calistoga, which opened in early 2023. The tasting experience is enhanced by the property’s artistic surroundings and proximity to local attractions, including bike paths connecting to nearby resorts.
