Hagafen Cellars, located in Napa Valley, has been producing award-winning kosher wines since its inception in 1980. Founded by Ernie and Irit Weir, the winery began with a Johannisberg Riesling made at Louis Bertolucci Cellars. Currently, Hagafen produces around 8,000 cases annually, primarily from its 12-acre estate planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is situated along the Silverado Trail, offering a casual and intimate tasting experience that reflects the charm of "old Napa." Visitors can enjoy a selection of over 20 wines, including unique varietals beyond the typical Napa offerings. The winery is known for its diverse wine styles, including sparkling wines and various Rieslings, with labels indicating sweetness levels. The tasting room features a humble setting, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Hagafen wines have a notable history, having been served at presidential dinners, and the winery participates in local events like the L'Chaim Jewish Food & Wine Festival. Tours are available by appointment, providing insights into the winery's operations and vineyard practices.
