Harbison Estate Wines is located in Oakville, Napa Valley, and encompasses 5 acres of vineyards characterized by rocky, iron-rich soils typical of the eastern Oakville region. The winery is owned by Joe and Pat Harbison, who have a deep passion for fine wine and a history of supporting children's charities through various auction events. Joe Harbison, a former Navy officer and law graduate, began producing wine in 1998, initially focusing on large format bottles for charity auctions, raising significant funds for children's causes. In 2005, the Harbisons acquired their vineyard property, which underwent extensive renovations before planting Cabernet Sauvignon in 2005. The first estate vintage was produced in 2008, with subsequent vintages crafted by notable winemakers, including Jean Hoefliger, who joined in 2020. The estate produces three distinct Cabernet Sauvignon wines from different vineyard blocks, as well as limited quantities of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines are primarily sold directly to consumers, with some availability at local merchants. Each bottle features the Harbison family crest, reflecting their heritage.
