Napa, CA

Hunter Glenn Estate is a winery located southwest of Yountville, Napa Valley, founded by the Shifflett family, a fourth-generation Napa family. The estate spans 120 acres and has a rich history dating back to 1942 when Wade Shifflett Sr. purchased the land. Initially used for cattle and fruit production, grapevines were first planted in 1982 by Wade Jr. and his family, focusing on Chardonnay. The estate now cultivates 52 acres of various Bordeaux varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah, with plans to expand to 60 acres. The winery produces small batches of wine, with an annual production of about 500 cases. Jeffrey Shifflett Jr. manages the estate and serves as the winemaker, while his sister Caroline oversees sales. Hunter Glenn's first vintage was in 2014, and the wines are crafted using both estate-grown and sourced grapes. The winery offers a selection of wines, including a Rosé and a Chardonnay, known for their unique flavor profiles and balance. Visitors can expect a personalized tasting experience, reflecting the family's commitment to quality and tradition in winemaking.
