Ilsley Vineyards

Napa, CA

Ilsley Vineyards is situated in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, with family roots tracing back over a century. The vineyard was established in 1954 by Ernest and Laura "June" Ilsley, who initially grew grapes on 40 acres before expanding to 154 acres. Initially planting Carignane and Zinfandel, they transitioned to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1964, following a recommendation from Robert Mondavi. For decades, Ilsley sold grapes to notable wineries, including Charles Krug and Robert Mondavi, with Shafer Vineyards currently sourcing their fruit. In 2000, the third generation of the Ilsley family began producing their own wines, with family members actively involved in various aspects of the operation. The winery produces between 400 to 600 cases annually, focusing on quality and detail. Ilsley Vineyards offers a personalized tasting experience, showcasing a range of wines, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, along with blends like Seis Primas. The vineyard faced challenges during the 2017 wildfires but managed to save much of their property. Visitors can learn more about their wines and join their mailing list through their website.
