Davies Vineyards is located in the Diamond Mountain appellation, just south of Calistoga, and was originally established at the historic Schramsberg Winery. Founded by Jack and Jamie Davies, the winery focuses primarily on producing Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate's hillside vineyards date back to 1862, making it one of Napa County's earliest hillside vineyard sites. While Schramsberg is renowned for its sparkling wines, Davies Vineyards shifted its focus to red Bordeaux varietals, beginning to plant them in 1994. After seven years of experimentation, they released their first commercial vintage in 2001. The winery now produces a range of wines, including several Pinot Noirs and both Napa Valley and estate Cabernet Sauvignons. In 2017, Davies opened its first standalone tasting room, designed to resemble a historic stone winery. The tasting experience includes seated tastings, a demonstration vineyard for educational purposes, and various private tasting rooms. Visitors are welcomed with a glass of Schramsberg sparkling wine and can enjoy a caviar brunch on weekends. The winery's production facilities are located nearby, and the estate spans approximately 41 acres with a low yield of about 2 tons per acre.
