James Cole Estate Winery is situated near the Silverado Trail at the Oak Knoll Crossroad, making it easily accessible. The winery specializes in estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, benefiting from its proximity to the renowned Stags Leap Wine District. Founded by James and Colleen Cole in 2000, the winery began producing wine in 2003 and completed its own facility in 2007, after initially making wine at Regusci Winery. The 11-acre estate features nine acres planted primarily with three clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, with grapes aged separately before blending. The winery's production is limited, with annual output around 2,500 cases, and wines are exclusively available on-site. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed tasting experience in a unique setting that includes a dimly lit cellar adorned with vintage motorcycles and a pinball machine. The knowledgeable staff provides a friendly atmosphere for tastings, which can be held indoors or outdoors, weather permitting. James Cole Estate Winery offers a selection of wines, including a vibrant rosé and rich Cabernet Sauvignon, reflecting the winery's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
