Jarvis Estate Winery is situated on Highway 121, approximately 15 minutes from downtown Napa, amidst a sprawling 1,320-acre estate, of which only 37 acres are cultivated with vines. Founded by William and Leticia Jarvis, the winery reflects their extensive travels and appreciation for fine wine. The estate features a unique Experimental Vineyard with 55 grape varieties, including both traditional Napa varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, as well as rare types not commonly found in the region. The winery's distinctive 45,000-square-foot cave system houses all winemaking facilities, allowing for minimal visual impact on the landscape. Tours and tastings, which require advance reservations, take place within the caves, showcasing features such as a waterfall and a tasting grotto adorned with crystals. Jarvis focuses primarily on red wines, producing unfiltered options, including a notable Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and a unique wine called the Science Project, inspired by the founders' son. Additionally, Jarvis offers an Associate Vintner Program, allowing visitors to create their own wine, and operates the Jarvis Conservatory, a cultural venue in Napa.
