JAX Vineyards, located in the northern Napa Valley at the base of Mt. St. Helena, has been producing wine since 1996. Originally named Jackson Ridge, the winery is owned by David and Jane Jackson, who purchased the 14-acre property in 1990. The winery is currently managed by their children, Kimberly and Trent Jackson, along with partner Dan Parrott. JAX is known for its dry-farmed vineyard, which yields low tonnage, resulting in concentrated flavors in their wines. The winery produces approximately 10,000 cases annually, focusing primarily on red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. They also have a second label, Y3, which offers lighter, approachable wines that highlight the varietals. The Y3 label honors the Jackson family's heritage and includes wines sourced from regional vineyards.
