Jericho Canyon Winery is situated on the Old Lawley Toll Road near Mt. St. Helena in northern Napa Valley. The property, originally part of a land grant, has a rich history tied to the local mining era. Owners Dale and Marla Bleecher acquired the 135-acre site in 1989, initially selling their grapes to other wineries before producing their own wines, with their son Nick now serving as head winemaker. The winery is located on a rugged hillside, with vineyards planted on steep slopes that require extensive manual labor. Jericho Canyon focuses on sustainable farming practices and produces a small selection of estate wines, primarily red, including a Bordeaux-style Cabernet Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc. Their wines are noted for their complexity and aging potential, with a strong emphasis on detail in both vineyard management and winemaking. Visitors can enjoy intimate tastings, often led by family members, and can explore the scenic property via guided tours. In 2024, Jericho Canyon opened a tasting room in downtown Calistoga, enhancing their visitor experience with a modern, elegant space. Reservations are required for tastings, which can be enjoyed indoors or on the patio.
