Joseph Cellars Winery, located just south of Calistoga, is owned by the Bartholomew Family, with Joe Bartholomew having a long-standing passion for Napa Valley since the 1970s. After years of searching for vineyard property, he acquired a 32-acre estate from vineyard pioneer Laurie Wood, which spans both the Diamond Mountain and Calistoga AVAs. The winery features 12,000 square feet of caves and a hospitality center, completed between 2010 and 2013, and produces around 4,000 cases of wine annually. The winery offers a variety of tasting experiences, including sit-down tastings, cave tours, and food pairings, all set against scenic views of Mt. St. Helena. The hospitality space includes two kitchens and a shop selling non-wine items. Joseph Cellars focuses on crafting a range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc, with an emphasis on balanced, varietal characteristics. The estate vineyard, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, has seen recent replanting efforts and aims to produce both Calistoga and Diamond Mountain wines in the future.
