Kelham Wines, previously located on Zinfandel Lane near St. Helena, is no longer associated with its original property, which has since become Oakham Estate Winery. The winery was founded in 1984 by Emil Hoffman, who named it after a nearby creek. Susanna Kelham acquired the estate in 1997, and the first Kelham Wines were produced in 1998, focusing primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate spans just under 11 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vines, with additional grapes sourced from a family-owned vineyard in Oakville. Kelham Wines is known for producing limited quantities of premium, age-worthy wines, particularly complex and bold Cabernet Sauvignons that require significant aging. The winery's production is around 4,000 cases annually, emphasizing quality over quantity. The family has a strong artistic influence, with Susanna's interior design background reflected in the winery's elegant art salon. Although Kelham Wines no longer hosts tastings, it previously offered a refined visitor experience, complete with charcuterie plates and stunning views of Mt. St. Helena. The winery's commitment to craftsmanship is evident in its wines, which are characterized by their depth and aging potential.
