KrisTodd Vineyards, located on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, was established by Kristine and Tod Ratfield. Tod, a lawyer from Walnut Creek, and Kristine developed a passion for Howell Mountain wines during their visits to Napa. They began their winemaking journey with a Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Lamborn Family Vineyards before planting their own vineyard in 2011, which spans 4.5 acres at an elevation of 1,800 feet. The vineyard is characterized by rocky volcanic soil, which posed challenges during planting. Winemaker Massimo Monticelli, who has extensive experience in the wine industry, oversees the winemaking process. The vineyard produces a range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc and a popular rosé made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are noted for their vibrant flavors and complexity. Tastings are available at Vintner's Collective, a tasting room in Napa showcasing select producers. KrisTodd Vineyards emphasizes a community-focused approach, benefiting from close relationships with neighboring vintners.
