Lanthanide Wines

Napa, CA

Lanthanide Wines, established in 2018 by Diane Wu and Philippe Venghiattis, focuses on producing Napa Valley-grown Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with other varietals such as Marsanne, Viognier, Tempranillo, and Aglianico. Located in the remote Deep End of Carneros, the winery sources its Riesling from the Hibbard Ranch Vineyard, which spans both the Carneros District and Mt. Veeder. Diane Wu, the winemaker, has a deep passion for Riesling, influenced by her experiences in Germany, where she developed an appreciation for dry Rieslings and their aging potential. The vineyard's well-drained, weathered sandstone soils contribute to the unique characteristics of the wines. Wu emphasizes minimal intervention in winemaking, aiming to showcase the vineyard's terroir. Lanthanide produces wines under the Nedori label, including a notable Marsanne, and two Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings under the Ad Coeulum label. Their wines have received accolades, including a Double Gold Medal at the SF Chronicle Wine Competition. With a production of 300 to 500 cases annually, Lanthanide wines are available at select locations in Napa Valley.
