Larkin Wines is located in Napa Valley and is owned by Sean Larkin, who has a unique background, having emigrated from Scotland to the U.S. at age 19. After initially working in sheet metal, he transitioned to the wine industry in the late 1990s, discovering a passion for Cabernet Franc while working as a wine distributor. He began making wine in 1999, starting with a small batch of Cabernet Franc and has continued to produce this varietal annually, sourcing grapes from various vineyards, including the historic Pocai Vineyard. Larkin Wines focuses on Cabernet Franc to differentiate itself in a market dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery produces around 1,000 cases annually and has received positive recognition from wine critics. In addition to his main line, Sean introduced the Jack Larkin label in 2004 and has also ventured into canned wines under the LARKAN brand, which have been well-received. The wines are selectively distributed across the U.S. and can be found in premium restaurants and a tasting room in Yountville. However, Larkin Wines does not offer public tastings.
