Mario Bazán Cellars, located in Napa Valley, is owned by Mario and Gloria Bazán. Mario, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, moved to Napa in 1973 to work in the wine industry, gaining experience at notable wineries such as Joseph Phelps and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. In 1997, he established Mario Bazán Vineyard Management, overseeing 200 vineyard acres. Gloria, who previously practiced pediatric dentistry in Mexico, manages the winery and creates unique glass art sold in the tasting room. The winery's winemaking has evolved, with Victoria Coleman as the initial winemaker until 2013, followed by David DeSante, and currently Kian Tavakoli, who has extensive experience in Napa Valley. Mario Bazán Cellars produces a range of wines, including a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for their Rosé, and a variety of Cabernet Sauvignon vintages from their estate vineyard. The tasting room, recently relocated to 1000 Main Street in Napa, offers various tasting experiences, including gourmet pairings with Oaxacan-inspired cuisine. The winery's limited production wines are primarily distributed in California and New York, with some availability at local restaurants.
