McKenzie-Mueller Vineyards & Winery is situated in the Carneros district, approximately 15 minutes from downtown Napa and Sonoma. Founded in 1989 by Bob Mueller and Karen McKenzie, the winery is currently managed by their daughter Samantha, who oversees operations. The family has deep roots in Napa Valley, with their history dating back to the late 19th century. The winery occupies a renovated dairy barn and is open for tastings by appointment, offering a cozy and intimate experience. Visitors can enjoy a selection of wines, including their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and a well-regarded Cabernet Franc. The winery produces around 2,500 cases annually, with a focus on hand-crafted, unfiltered wines that age well. McKenzie-Mueller owns 50 acres in Carneros, planted with various grape varieties, and an additional 8-acre vineyard in the Oak Knoll district. The winery also produces olive oil from their on-site olive trees. Tasting experiences may include tours of the production facility, where visitors can meet the cellar master. The winery is noted for its unique selection of older vintages available for tasting and purchase.
