Miner Family Winery, located in Napa Valley, was established by Dave Miner in 1996. Originally from Chicago, Dave transitioned from a career in software sales to the wine industry after managing operations at Oakville Ranch, where he became interested in winemaking. In 1999, he and his wife Emily purchased the winery and its 18 acres, subsequently creating an extensive cave system for wine storage and custom crush clients. The winery primarily sources grapes from various growers across Napa Valley and Monterey, with only a small estate vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors can enjoy tastings on the veranda, with walk-ins welcome, and can also book tours that include barrel tastings and personalized experiences. Miner Family Winery is known for producing a diverse range of wines, including unique varietals like Viognier and Tempranillo, alongside their flagship blend, The Oracle. The winery has a community-oriented philosophy, supporting charitable causes, and has a notable connection to the NHL, creating limited production wines for various hockey events. Following Emily's tragic passing in 2011, the winery introduced Emily's Cuvee, with proceeds benefiting cancer research.
