Neal Family Vineyards is situated in the Howell Mountain Appellation, just minutes from downtown Angwin, at an elevation of approximately 1,800 feet. The estate spans 24 acres, with 12 acres dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon. Established in 1968, the Neal family has a long history in Napa Valley, with founder Mark Neal taking over vineyard management after his father's passing in 1994. The family is recognized for its commitment to organic farming, being the largest organic farming operation in Napa Valley, and recently achieving Regenerative Organic Certified status. The winery began producing its own wines in 1997, focusing primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon and other red varieties. Neal Family Vineyards is known for its innovative practices, including night harvesting and a unique trellising system that protects white grapes from sunburn. The winery also produces distinctive white wines, including Assyrtiko and Fiano, which are rare in the region. Visitors can expect a creative tasting experience, with wines that reflect the family's dedication to quality and sustainability. The winery's small cave facility enhances the intimate tasting experience, showcasing their commitment to both traditional and experimental winemaking techniques.
