Nid Tissé Wines, located in Napa Valley, was established by French winemaker Marie-Laure Ammons, who has deep roots in her homeland's agricultural traditions. Raised in Limousin, France, she honors her heritage through her wine labels, which feature troubadour dancers. After gaining experience at various California wineries, including Stonestreet and Atelier Melka, she launched Nid Tissé in 2019, focusing primarily on Chardonnay sourced from prestigious vineyards like Bacigalupi and Hyde. Marie-Laure's winemaking philosophy emphasizes simplicity and minimal intervention, akin to a chef selecting quality ingredients. Her Chardonnays are fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in a combination of French oak, amphorae, and ceramic barrels, resulting in wines that are expressive yet restrained. The tasting experience showcases a range of flavors, from stone fruits to floral notes, with a balanced acidity. In addition to Chardonnay, Nid Tissé also produces Pinot Noir from the Radian Vineyard in Santa Barbara County, known for its cool climate and rocky soils. The wines exhibit bright fruit characteristics and elegant tannins, appealing to both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir enthusiasts.
