Oakville Ranch is a picturesque hillside estate situated in the Oakville appellation of Napa Valley, at an elevation of approximately 1,000 feet. This 370-acre property, which has around 70 acres planted with vines, was acquired by Bob and Mary Miner in 1989, marking the beginning of their winemaking journey. The estate is not open to the public due to its remote location and strict permit regulations. The ranch has a rich history, having changed hands multiple times since its initial purchase in 1980 by a group of investors. The Miners, who were also involved in the tech industry, notably co-founded Oracle, and after Bob's passing in 1994, Mary took over the management. The estate is recognized for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals, as well as unique plantings of Grenache and Chardonnay. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Napa Valley, and the property features a state-of-the-art cellar in the Oak Knoll District for wine production. The vineyards are certified organic, managed by renowned viticulturist Phil Coturri. Oakville Ranch produces limited estate wines, including a Grenache rosé, Chardonnay, and a Cabernet Sauvignon blend, reflecting the terroir's distinct characteristics.
