Pahlmeyer

Napa, CA

Pahlmeyer Wine, established in 1986, began with a proprietary red blend and initially produced wines at Merryvale Winery before moving to Napa Wine Co in 1994. The winery has since transitioned through various facilities, settling at the former William Hill Winery in 2020. Pahlmeyer is known for its high-quality wines, sourcing grapes primarily from hillside vineyards in eastern Napa Valley, including the notable Waters Ranch. The winery's history includes a connection to John Caldwell's vineyard in Coombsville, where early vintages were produced. In 2019, GALLO acquired the Pahlmeyer and Jayson brands, although the flagship Waters Ranch vineyard remains independently operated. The winery has a reputation for meticulous vineyard management, focusing on low yields and balanced acidity. Visitors can enjoy private tastings in a contemporary indoor space or outdoors with scenic views. Pahlmeyer offers a range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a commitment to quality and craftsmanship evident in their production methods. The winery's wines have received acclaim, including recognition in James Suckling's Top 100 wines in the U.S.
