Parador Cellars

Yountville, CA

Parador Cellars, located in Napa Valley, is owned and operated by Steve Ventrello, who also serves as the winemaker. The winery focuses on Tempranillo, a grape variety that is underrepresented in California, particularly in Napa Valley. Steve's interest in Tempranillo was sparked during visits to Spain, where he sourced budwood from renowned vineyards. He has since established Tempranillo plantings in local vineyards, making Parador Cellars a unique producer of this varietal. The winery produced its first commercial vintage in 1998, offering a range of wines that include a Tempranillo rosé and various red blends. Parador Cellars emphasizes minimal intervention in winemaking, using premium oak barrels and aging wines for a minimum of four years before release. Their wines are unfiltered and showcase a variety of flavors, with particular attention to the aging potential of Tempranillo. In addition to the winery, Steve and his wife Faith have opened FolkLore, a multifaceted space in downtown Napa that combines a café, wine bar, and vinyl shop, further enriching the local community. Parador Cellars wines are well-distributed within California and are available for purchase through their website.
